We are getting smarter at White Street School by focusing on reading comprehension to become better readers, writers, thinkers and computers so that we graduate, communicate, and become more productive citizens in the community. We are getting smarter by responding to our learning.

White Street School Families,

Welcome to the 2012 – 13 school year.  It is an honor to be serving as the principal at White Street School for the fourth year.  Working together last year, we continued to make impressive improvements in student achievement, school attendance, school culture and school safety.

We do not and cannot do this work alone.  A major part of our Redesign Plan and our turnaround efforts is active family involvement in all aspects of school life.  Even with strong district and building leadership as well as the focused work of a very dedicated school staff, our scholars will not make the progress they need to make without the full support and commitment of you…their families and caretakers at home.  A perfect starting point is for you to read this Family Handbook, keep it and refer to it throughout the year.  It will answer many of your questions, give you contact names and phone numbers for you to call school and give you important information for being actively involved with your scholar’s education and learning.  Always know that you can come into school or call us at school with any question or concern.
