Program
Description
The Springfield Public
Schools, in collaboration with Holyoke Community College and funding from various grants,
provides an additional learning option for Springfield high school students in grades
11 and 12 known as the Early College High School.
Students
of the Early College High School will:
• Fulfill their high
school requirements by trained and certified teachers
• Receive free MCAS support and tutorial assistance
• Be allowed to take college courses at HCC for credit, at no cost to them
• Attend classes in a state-of-the-art college environment
• Receive coursework in career development
The above offerings, in
addition to a small learning environment of 80 students for the 2009-2010 academic year,
will help to ensure student success.
Important
information regarding the Early College High School:
• School is located
on the campus of Holyoke Community College
• Follows the Springfield Public School calendar
• School day is 8:05-2:35
• PVTA bus passes will be provided for transportation
• Breakfast and Lunches will be provided by Sodexho
