Let us commit ourselves to continue

building upon the progress that our Beal students have made over the past year. To that end, I would like to invite and encourage both the parents and staff alike to participate in school events that are scheduled between now and June.

Please check our school calendar for the dates and times of these events.

As previously mentioned, the Springfield Public Schools, (SPS) have focused on City-wide improvements for all Springfield students. Consequently, each school has developed a focus area to improve student growth. Here at Beal School, reading comprehension is our primary focus area. Each segment of our Beal “family” will commit itself to the following goals:

Student version:  I am here and ready to learn. I can think and show what I understand.

Adult version: Instructional Focus: Through the use of research based strategies and explicit modeling in vocabulary, listening skills and following directions, as well as understanding what is being asked, students will demonstrate improvement in comprehension as measured by grade level assessments.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Beglane, Principal
