Daniel Warwick to serve as Superintendent of Schools
June 18, 2012 – The School Committee tonight voted Deputy Superintendent Daniel J. Warwick as the new superintendent of Springfield Public Schools. Warwick will take over the superintendent post beginning July 1.
“I am truly honored to have this opportunity to lead this school district,” said Warwick. “I have committed my life’s work to Springfield Public Schools and I care deeply about our district, our students and staff. I am elated to stand at its helm as a visionary for its success as we progress and improve.”
Warwick has served as deputy superintendent of Springfield Public Schools since 2011 and as assistant superintendent of Springfield Public Schools from 2004 to 2011.
Prior to that, Warwick served as principal of Glenwood School from 1991 to 2004 and as
a Special Education supervisor for the school district from 1988 to 1991. He served as a
teacher in Springfield Public Schools from 1976 to 1988.
Warwick holds a bachelor’s degree from Westfield State University, a master’s degree
from American International College and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies-
Educational Administration from American International College.
