Statement
The vision of the Workforce Development Department is to create and sustain active system-wide
School to Career programs that challenge and prepare students for employment, lifelong
learning, and personal success. Build public and private partnerships that offer pathways
to more challenging, better paying occupations for Springfield students and cultivate
avenues to increased productivity and competitiveness for business and industry.

Statement
The mission of the Workforce Development Department is to help students identify and
fulfill their career goals, to serve as the bridge between their academic experience
and employment, and to help them apply what they have learned. By providing comprehensive
programs, resources, career development education and internships, we assist students
in making career decisions and connecting with employers.
